WHO WANTS TO GET PAID, PLAY MUSIC AND BE THE LIFE OF THE PARTY???

A friend of mine, DJ-Brad, is looking for a young and energetic team member to join his company as a DJ. You don’t have to have experience as all training and equipment will be available for you.

You just need to have a reliable car, a mobile phone, a good knowledge of music, be able to talk and work with people and be available to work most weekends!

If you’re looking at becoming a DJ, or if any of you know anyone who is looking for DJ work, please visit this link to find out more details, and here is his website too if you’d like to have a look at what kind of work he does - www.dj-brad.com.au

Please everyone share this around! What an awesome job, and DJ Brad is amazing, you’d love to work with him :)

Forever Young | Exhibition Opening Night

So I finally found all my grandma’s and grandpa’s for the exhibition I had worked very hard for and here are a few photos from the opening night.
I featured with an amazing group of talented artists and we all had over 100 people turn up to our opening night so it was a great experience and certainly great exposure for us all.

Not only will you see my photography work, but you’ll also see other photographers, sculptors, drawers, painters, jewellery makers, illustrators and more. I’m sure you’ll be inspired by the talented styles we all have and it’s wonderful to see everyone’s take on the theme Forever Young.

The exhibition will be on from November 30, 2011 until January 21, 2012 at the Pine Rivers Art Gallery (199 Gympie Road Strathpine). The gallery is open Monday to Saturday 10am – 4pm and will be closed over Christmas from 4pm Friday the 23rd of December and will open again at 10am on Tuesday the 3rd of January, so make sure if you’re coming to see the exhibition, it’s not when it’s closed.
So be sure to come down and check it out. You won’t be disappointed!

I’ll also be uploading some of my photography work from recent shoots, that I’ve been really slack on blogging about, so stay tuned and watch this space for updates! :)

Design Montage | 100 Creatives Party

Back in July of this year I was lucky enough to have an interview with Jenica Smith from Design Montage, a creative hub for creative people. Design Montage showcases a number of artists, designers, illustrators, photographers, animators and their work, helping to create a place of inspiration and direction for other artists.

On the 24th of November I was invited along to the 100 Creatives Party that Jenica Smith threw for the first 100 creative people that she interviewed and that were featured on the Design Montage site.

It was a privilege to be a part of such an awesome event. She had food and drinks for everyone at a cute little cafe in Woolloongabba called Desmond and Molly’s.

It was great to finally meet Jenica and see other artists mingling and networking. And here are a few photos that Marie took that night!

Forever Young | Grandmas and Grandpas wanted!

I’m looking for Grandma’s, Grandpa’s, Dad’s, Mum’s, family, friends – anyone over the age of 60.

I’m going to be in an exhibition at the end of the year, exhibiting some of my photography. Instead of showing my old/current work, I wanted to actually start fresh and come up with new body of work for this project but I need your help.

The theme for this exhibition is Forever Young. And the concept for my project is just that, Forever Young. Instead of exhibiting young people doing young things, I want to display the older generation doing young things and being Forever Young.

So if you have a Grandma or Grandpa, Mum or Dad, family, friends, anyone, who is over the age of 60, you can nominate them to be in my photos for this project.

My idea for this project is to have them doing things like:

-      An older couple, who have been together for years, still inlove now (so maybe high school sweethearts holding up a framed wedding photo)
-      Older couple, enjoying an icecream with heaps of hundreds and thousands all over them or eating fairy bread.
-      2 older men, playing xbox or a computer game of some sort.
-      2 older men/women or both, riding bikes or skateboarding.
-      An older couple swinging on the swings, or riding those rocking horse type things at a park.
-      An older man playing with matchbox cars on a big car play mat. You know those ones with all the streets and houses on them?
-      2 older people trying to take a photo using the webcam on a laptop.
-      Couple taking photos in a photobooth.

Anymore ideas are most certainly welcome :)

So if you would like to be a part of my project or know of anyone or would like to nominate anyone, if you have that perfect larrikin grandad who would have a ball riding a skateboard down the path/street then please let me know.

Comment below with their name and age. I also need a photo of them too so if you have a link from a photo of them on your facebook be sure to copy that link in, or alternatively all images can be emailed to me via my email here – info@lauratuton.com

Also, these photos need to be taken within the next month. So we don’t have much time to find our “young ones” and do each shoot with them. So get nominating! We need to have all shoots done by the 8th of November, as I need to then edit, print and frame them before they get sent to the gallery. Oh and all the grandmas and grandpas or whoever are featured in the photos, will have an invite to the exhibition as well so they can see their photo up on the gallery walls :) The exhibition starts on the 30th of November and the opening night that they’ll be invited to will be on the 2nd of December at 6pm.

Lets have some fun with this :) Get nominating!!!

  2. Laura Tuton says:

No worries! Well we could do both ideas if you like, that way if I end up not getting enough people, i have 2 ideas done. But if I do get enough people, I can decide which one turned out better :)
So i’ll let you know if i’m working on Saturday or not :)
Thanks for this Aunty Gayle :)

“It’s a boy” | Pregnancy shoot

When my friends Trent and Tracey came to me to do their pregnancy shoot, I was honoured. It was their first baby, and it was a privilege to share that moment with them.

The photoshoot ended up happening very late in Tracey’s pregnancy, so with it being right in the middle of Summer, you can imagine how hot, tired and out of energy poor Tracey was by the end of the day!

Despite the hot weather, I think we got some great images out of the shoot, and it was lovely to share this moment with the two of them.

Here are some photos from their pregnancy shoot. Let me know what you all think! :)

Trent and Tracey went on to have a baby boy and they named him Kaden James. He is a healthy and beautiful baby and I wish them all the best as they start their life together as a cute little family.

I also had the opportunity to take a few piccies of their family and here are a few sneak peeks of little Kaden from our shoot.
